In 1990, Kate Lynch put an ad in the local Bedford, PA paper proclaiming that she'd opened a catering company. The ad promised parties of effortless magnificence with food that would awe and delight! She was called naive by some; told it was impossible by others. She was twenty, fearless, and armed with an entire childhood's worth of dreams.
In the years to follow, Kate's small, home-based business grew to a large commercial kitchen catering to four counties. Additional opportunities knocked. She earned a hospitality degree from Penn State University and worked all over the country and also Europe. Settling finally in Corvallis, Oregon - what Kate and her husband, Howard, call 'the home of their hearts' - she delights in sharing an abundance of great food, artistry + true enthusiasm for hospitality as founder of forks & corks catering and events.
